Xtina's manager, Irving Azoff, threatening to remove his clients' music from Youtube:
Quote:
Last week (NET NEWS 11/13), ALL ACCESS reported IRVING AZOFF was threatening to remove the music of 42 of his clients -- including THE EAGLES, PHARRELL WILLIAMS, BOSTON, FOREIGNER, JOHN LENNON, SMOKEY ROBINSON, CHRIS CORNELL and GEORGE and IRA GERSHWIN -- representing some 20,000 copyrighted works from the YOUTUBE ecosystem, including the new MUSIC KEY.
AZOFF has followed through on that threat.
NASDAQ reports AZOFF's lawyer HOWARD KING sent YOUTUBE a letter "demanding documentation of any licenses that YOUTUBE might have." They wrote, "In defiance of our demands, it appears YOUTUBE continues to broadcast videos containing the songs controlled by GMR, with each broadcast constituting a willful copyright infringement."
"A GOOGLE spokesman told DOW JONES BUSINESS NEWS that YOUTUBE, "responded that it has struck deals with labels, publishers, license-collection groups and others for its new subscription music-video service, YOUTUBE MUSIC KEY and would continue to work on such deals."
The war of words is getting heated, as AZOFF said, "he started the performing rights group largely out of frustration with YOUTUBE, which he says is involved in the bulk of music's 'exploitation', while providing only a tiny sliver of the industry's revenue," adds DOW JONES BUSINESS NEWS. "In his dealings with YOUTUBE over the years as a talent manager, he said YOUTUBE typically would ask him to prove that it didn't have licensees to use his clients' work, a nearly impossible task, he added. The company also has typically asked him to identify exactly where in its system the copyright infringement is occurring, another challenge for outsiders." The report also adds, "AZOFF said he expects his takedown request to carry more weight now because 'this time it's not a single artist that's going to go away'."
Irving is SO out of touch with reality. Thank god it isn't his decision, only the label can remove her music from Youtube since it's copyrighted under their name. And lbr, RCA would NEVER.

That's good. How about he focuses on putting more performances/videos on her official channel? There are a ton of performances from over the years that should be on there. She needs to update her team.
It looks like Christina's MV is not in the middle of it.
And it doesn't seem he will win this case. I don't see any judge demanding Youtube to remove those artists MV unless he has proves and with all the loopholes from these contracts, he will be wasting time and and his clients money.
Azoff should worry about keeping only one Candyman video and add the visualizations in the official MV, this'd be more useful.
She needs to fire Irving. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but he's too old to be managing a popstar who wants to make a comeback in the top tier of pop girls.

I don't understand why her televised performances aren't uploaded on her channel, also, I can't believe most of her MV aren't in HD

His theory makes total sense, artists make no money through music anymore. Partly because of websites like Youtube. But in the DIGITAL age there's really no other way to gain mass exposure, and appeal to as many audiences as possible. He seems to be stuck in 2000 when people would head to the store just to buy a new CD.
If her team had uploaded the IAMMMW performance to Youtube when Vevo was first introduced I'm pretty sure it'd be at around 100 million views now. Ugh she needs to fire Irving and hire Kris Jenner as a manager, that woman would skyrocket her career, seriously.
OMG! T!na, don't get me started about the legendary performance being uploaded on basic non-official channels. The highest viewed video is LQ
Ugh
It should be her highest viewed performance, but thanks to the mess that is Xtina's team, it has like 10 million with the videos combined
I know most fanbases blame their faves team when said fave flop, but Xtina's team are seriously THE WORST. I'm pretty sure they all still use cassette players

Ugh. Other artists have their Grammy performances on their Vevo channels, so there is no excuse as to why this one is not on hers. It's like her team doesn't even care.

I hope they don't let us down again in 2015. I'm willing to give them a chance to start from scratch tbh
I'll forgive them for the past mess as long as :
1) They properly certify Just a Fool, YB (with the streams combined, it's platinum I think) and all the other singles they've paid dust to
2) They start working hard on social media and upload all her important moments / performances on VEVO from now on
3) Do lyric videos

It's funny how these things are a regular and simple occurrence for the other pop girls, yet we can only dream of such things for Xtina.
Oh, and isn't Irving Gwen's manager now? She has yet to perform her first single on The Voice. Sound familiar?

Actually, Gwen's chart run so far is very similar to Christina's.
Good first week iTunes peak
Falling quickly after the first few days
Bad promo
Early video release
Good initial response from radio
Big stations never putting it on power rotation
Stalling outside of the pop airplay top 20
Peaking (so far) at the same amount of AI
Getting lost in the shuffle
etc etc etc
Fergie's single is also performing similarly. The only difference is YB sold twice as much as both of them.
1) Those videos won't even play when I push play.
2) I looked at her Youtube Vevo channel, and those videos aren't even there. Her Candyman performance from that set is there, though.
