Nobody seriously comes for her vocals anymore YouTube is too big and all it takes is a quick search to see how good of a vocalist she was....Idk if they showed some of her clips in the documentary but that would have been a nice touch just to show she had a good voice.
The movie wasn't even that bad. Alexandra looked so much like Aaliyah, and the style was on point. The non-Aaliyah songs were pretty terrible, and the vocals weren't great, but it could have been worse. I do feel like they dwelled on Age Ain't Nothing But A Number too much. And I wish they would have ended the movie with the Rock The Boat shoot.
The actors they picked were cute, but R Kelly, Missy and Timbaland didn't look anything like the real thing. If they would have cast better people, I think the movie would have been received better. I feel like they made R Kelly look like less of a predator, and her uncle didn't seem as greedy as he really is.
