1989 is not an important album. it's a really, really good pop record but there have been so many more important and better releases in 2014 alone, never mind 2013.

how is it important? it's just a safe pop album with some max martin bops on it. it's not like it's saving the music industry or anything. taylor is an anomaly. album sales will go back to being **** when all is said and one.

There is something really weird about that '99 problems but my ass ain't one' pic. She looks fine and healthy and sexy, objectively speaking, but upon closer inspection there is something eerie about it. Like it was cut and pasted together or like she's an alien hiding underneath someone's skin.
The queen is very much a puzzle which is what makes people so interested in her. She clearly keeps all her most important and personal thoughts in her head and only allow the image she wants the world to see her as be shown. Bey doesn't get enough credit for her deception and persuasion.

It's very arguable whether it's "important" or not. But after several underperformances and an entire year where no other 2014 release scanned one million units, 1989 is probably the closest thing to an "important" release in 2014. Quality wise, there are better albums for sure.

It would be interesting to see Beyonce in a sit-down with Charlie Rose or Brian Williams. An interview where she's asked about life, spirituality, her insecurities, feminism, basically anything that doesn't have to do with her brand .
