I'm from the country right below it, I would say the most popular popstars here (and in South East Asia overall) are Katy, Taylor. Miley, Avril, Demi, Selena. Miley and Taylor seem to be the most popular though.

K-Pop? Probably SNSD, 2NE1, Super Junior and that new boyband EXO or something.

I forgot about Rihanna and Big Bang, probably because they have not been so active lately. People know about Beyonce as a celebrity, her music just doesn't fit the Asian taste though.

Kesha was a fad. Gaga was a fad. They were both fads. That's obvious.

As I said, I don't care about success. Like it's cute that Kesha has the best selling single and Gaga was unstoppable for 2 or so straight years, but I really couldn't care less. I didn't stan because of their fame, I stanned because of The Fame or Animal.

Katy however isn't a fad. She's proving era by era that she's here for the long haul. Not just one really big era and then not so much.

Anyone can get a #1 album if they release during a snooze week. Sia got a #1 with 50k. #1 albums are really not much of an accomplishment in 2014. It'd be a bigger deal to NOT get a #1 album than it would be to actually get one, especially for Gaga.

Also I find it so odd that people bash Katy for her vocals when Katy is vocally much stronger both in the studio and live than Taylor. But you know, if you're against Katy she's fair game to stan for.
