No, what it takes to survive in pop is to keep releasing solid albums. Her music might not be to your taste, but her fans know she will always deliver with her full album. In fact, they know the album will be way better than the singles (which is totally different from what Katy or Rihanna offer).
Madonna is/was daring yes, but a big part of Madonna being Madonna is that she went decades without releasing a subpar album. Same for MJ and the other big names; they released classic album after classic album.
Not that I'm saying Taylor should be compared to them, because she obviously shouldn't... but I'd bet on Taylor having a longer career than Rihanna in the long run.
