YM was just Lil Wayne and his pets Nicki and Drake. Lil Wayne no longer has pull, Nicki is fading and Drake is a meme these days. It's a typical urban crew label that will crash and burn. Nothing new.

I'm sure he can, but Wayne played a big part in getting him out there. Without his support, Drake would still be making appearances on Canadian shows. Don't think he has really reached the level of Kanye or Jay-Z just yet.
