They aren't mutually exclusive. The former is the tune while the latter is the nature of the beat. By your question though, I would say Run The World and Partition are more rhythmic than XO which has a melodious sing along tune.

And although I'm not the biggest fan of Pretty Hurts the song, the video was the perfect opener for the visual album. It allows for Ghost to PUNCH much harder and grab everyones attention.
