This. I dont believe Kesha even wanted to get him in trouble because of the media and how it would effect her career but desperate times call for desperate measures.

It's civil because it mainly pertains to the contract and wanting out of it.... The allegations simply help her case since it shows she's been under distress throughout their partnership. If she wanted him to be convicted and jailed THEN she'd be in criminal court. She's cutting him slack honestly. There doesn't need to be more than reasonable belief by the judge and or jury if its assigned to one for her to be awarded out of the contract.
So you're right that's all she and her team cares about. That's the difference between going civil or criminal. Look it up.

As sad as it sounds, unless the media gets REALLY into this and scrutinizes Luke, he'll just continue to be a force in the industry.
This happens a lot in the music business, and everyone knows it, but everyone keeps shut.
If Luke keeps delivering hot tracks other artists will want his songs and turn a blind eye, as sad as it is.
I feel really bad for Kesha though, poor girl.

lol, please. I don't have the stats to hand, but the percentage of people who lie about sexual assault is minute. The number of people who don't lie yet aren't believed or taken seriously is stratospheric.

Not picking sides, i don't know much about Kesha, but i'm not utterly surprised when people lie for the most disturbing things.

TL;DR she suffered the abuse for 10 years, which is why it is so bad. If she hadn't put up with the abuse right away, there never would have been a Ke$ha in the first place. As it was explained in the lawsuit, Kesha was threatened by Dr. Luke... not just personal threats, but threats that would destroy her career in music forever, threats directed towards her family, even her pets (as Kesha is an animal activist, this is a big issue). As any young naive person, they often believe that bigger, powerful men can and will do exactly as they threaten if they don't cooperate.
This is 2014, how do people NOT know this by now? This kind of **** happens a lot more often than you would think... to pop stars? No. But everyday women. That's why it doesn't get heard of much. And even then, the ones that DO come up front about it get doubted and ignored. It's so sad.
Kesha is CLEARLY the victim here, and she's FINALLY standing up for herself after YEARS of abuse by not only Dr. Luke, but the bystanders who allowed this all to happen without saying a word or making so much as an effort to stop Dr. Luke from treating Kesha is such a way.
P.S. I don't understand why people are taking the angle like "she's just making this up to get out of her contract"... this is the REASON she wants to get out of her contract! Of course she doesn't want to be affiliated with somebody who sexually assaulted and took advantage of her. If these allegations weren't true, there would be no need for her to want to get out of the contract. Sexual abuse aside, the comments that he made towards Kesha regarding her talent, vocal ability and appearance were completely uncalled for and his control over her work as an artist is unfair and his control over her own songwriting is unacceptable, she has EVERY right to want out of the contract.
There are two clear parts to this lawsuit, the sexual harassment part and the unfair business part. It just so happens that Dr. Luke blurred the lines ( ) between the two, making sexually demeaning comments in regards to Kesha and her appearance with her music career too. They're intertwined.
