No one remembers "We Belong Together". That's only you, who brings up its inflated airplay and stats from last decade. No one is covering WBT in this day and age. "Purple Rain" and "When Doves Cry" are still either covered or mimicked today. Stop with those lies. Mariah ain't **** next to Prince. She wasn't **** next to Whitney.

Both iTunes and Spotify stats are misleading, as both are geared toward younger crowds, which are far more likely to listen to Mariah than Prince, especially considering Prince debuted a whole decade before Mariah did.

The people who grew up with Prince are still listening to him on gramophones.

Prince was huge and mainstream in the 80s. Y'all are making it seem like he's some non icon one era wonder. He's not Mc Hammer or Rick James. Prince had a hugely successful career until the early/mid 90s when he bashed commercial music industry and went indie.

That's the point.

He said Prince has more memorable hits. If a hit is memorable it connects especially with new generations more against forgotten hits.

As much as I would love for Lady Gaga to play at the super bowl, she really doesn't have big, powerful songs that could rock a stadium. Maybe 'The Edge of Glory.' 'You and I' would be great too, noticed a lot of rock fans in the United States like that song. A performance of 'Poker Face' or 'Telephone' would feel odd to me. I guess 'Bad Romance' could work too.
