It hasn't been lip-synced for over a decade IIRC. People are more aware of it now, so she'd be lambasted if she lip-synced.

I'm sure she'll have quite a heavy backing track; although what does that say about Katy Perry in that it's a relief that she's lipsyncing?

Katy Perry will remain Katy Perry, an icon, an almost legend, and fearlessly to say, the biggest female pop star out there now. People know she's not good at singing live either (as if nobody has seen the VMAs/AMAs before), it's not like they'll be surprised. The adult men (Superbowl's main audience) will focus on her boobs and great stage setting, while bopping to her famous hits.

Another day goes by, another milestone is set into Katy Perry's career. Too bad the same can't be said for her contemporaries.

None care about live vocals on a SB performance. It's ALL about the spectacle and whether the GP remembers/connects with your biggest hits.

It's purely a showcasing of basically everything you've built as an artist, which is why it was a CACKLE to see Bén singing album tracks to an album none bought.

And then he did the same thing @ the VMAs. Even the black women at my job that like him said they couldn't connect to the performance fully because they "didn't know all the songs."

That has nothing to do with the topic

It was their choice to sing live. Superbowl is mainly about the performance itself and the showcase of your hits. Had they lip synched the mess would have been avoided.

Same with Bey, she would have looked less like Grinch that stole the Christmas and more like a human. Katy's smart on the other hand and will do what she always is good at, putting a show and keeping the GP happy
