I mean in one sense the urban community did take notice to anaconda but the 3rd single if done the way you are saying and the way i've been saying for some time will garner the respect that she deserves.

PNP was a step in the right direction
Anaconda was a step backwards to get a hit. I mean it just hit 1M in the states and I remember a couple days ago asking if it was 1.5M yet not even realizing it hadn't hit 1M with all dem views and promo performances. If she can command respect with quality with this next one...

Her punchlines are her foundation

This is kinda true. But Anaconda was only like a tiny step backward that doesnt really negatively affect anything in the grande scheme of things. And as we know, Nicki can jump back from literally anything lol

Probably because senile relied on flow and delivery and not lyricism. Those barz were not progressive. She excels in punchlines, wordplay but missed a key element.
I love the beat and hope for something like that on the Pinkprint but the lyricism of that song...she can have that. The delivery...I use. The flow...she's done it. She can do something else on TPP.

Fair enough. I didn't mean that hit was like 10 steps back...just not progressive. I've said it before that I do think despite the stunt that it can open up another group to her before TPP. To me, if she were to play this off as showing 6 or more different elements of rap (female) then it would be a worthwhile story because ratchet, twerk, stunt songs are a part of hip hop culture too.

It would be amazing if:
PNP vulnerable introspective
Anaconda fun, ratchet shock value
3rd single: Street disciple/motivational sermon
4th single: sensual vibey baby making song
5th single: fun YET clever and wise anthemic inspirational/aspirational
6th single: stuntin on em' bragging rights
7th singe: closer wildcard...a laid back dancehall groove wouldn't hurt

Cover the elements of a PinkPrint since she said this album could be something female rappers could reference in the future.

True but for me I like the song...I just feel like anyone could have delivered those paint by numbers, 1-2 buckle my shoes fisherprice lyrics. For instance, I COULD HAVE TOTALLY pictured Nicki doing this in 2009 after the infamous Lil kim homage picture. For all she professed in 2012-2014 about the album...I mean, IMO it was not only a step backwards lyrically but image wise for those warming up to her grown, implicit sexy and classier image.
It was water cooler talk for sure and I spoke about this in the summer but some of my co-workers and college friends shared a similar point of view...they have no problem discussing rappers but when Nicki comes up they couldn't get past her Lady Gaga ish ways as they would say. The stunts/the shock value image...and couldn't take her serious. However, I was pleasantly elated when by 2013/early 2014 some would state how they like the new image and just couldn't take her serious with the stunts and stuff.
Some warmed up to her with PNP which I only use the chorus; however, the Anaconda single cover, the viral clips, the video...let's not even discuss the lyrics just those three alone...somewhat took a step backwards for the sake of a controversial hit that just sold 1M in the states to my surprise.

Again, I do believe she could totally market this perfectly as long as its a one off and she takes the remainder of the era demonstrating 5 more strong facets of the PinkPrint.
If it tells a cohesive story then I think this could work really well for her.
