This idea that DC is more successful or acclaimed is false. Both groups were big for 5 years and TLC was bigger than DC was. They paved the way and gave the blueprint for DC in the first place.

No, but without Beyonce, DC would just be another R&B group that garnered popularity in the nineties and '00s. Their catalog is nothing to write home about, and I love them.
Writing's on The Wall and Destiny's Fullfiled were great, I just don't know how can one say they like any of the other albums out loud and with a straight face.
