I really like Iggy, but I agree, the media is doing a little too much in giving her all the credit and discrediting the achievements of other female rappers.
She has two big hits to her name, but she has sold barely a fraction of the records Nicki, Missy and Kim usually sell with a typical record. Based on my real life experience, I notice that people claim to really like her, but I doubt they actually went out and bought her album.
Even for her a new artist, her album should be performing better than it is. She clearly doesn't have a huge loyal fanbase at the moment, and she's going to have to work hard and impress people more with her flows if she wants to be around for years to come. Either that, or she will become a pop niche rapper in the vein of Flo Rida, with the success to her name but a lack of respect in the hip hop community. She has a lot of work to do, and she needs to figure out how she wants to be remembered and how
long she wants to be remembered for.
