After nearly 9 months, no album released in 2014 has come close to platinum (only 8 gold albums, two of which are Now compilations.)

Taylor's will be the first 2014 release to go platinum.

Now 49, Now 50, and Now 51 are among top-sellers this year, and have all been spending good time in the T10.

You'd really think Now albums would've worn away this decade since they only blew up and had purpose when buying singles wasn't huge.

I feel like if NOW did the same thing with albums, and often rebundled old albums together for a small price to experience a quick surge it would be genius. Say when 1989 dropped, they put Taylor's past 4 albums combined on sale for $15. I bet it would sell a quick couple hundred-thousand and the sales would somehow count for all 4.

Albums are the livelihood of musicians and also their retirement plan. If a band has put out 30-40 albums in their career they can make an OK living once they are no longer able to tour...without sales what will happen is that we'll see amazing talents flame out much quickly and only put out a couple of albums before having to renounce to their career, and more and more ultra commercial, garbage acts like Flo Rida which are only good for a quick buck. We've already seen the massive decline in the quality of music videos, same will continue to happen to concert shows, even the production and amount of work and effort that goes into individual albums (because artists will have to tour more and more to make a living and won't be able to take a year off to make an album). For us fans sales disappearing is the worst thing that can happen.
