I think what I liked most about Psi and Saibra is that they brought something unique to the episode. It's all very nice and well to have a Silurian, Sontaran and a human running around Victorian London, but as much as two of them are extraterrestrials, they're still playing the part of human investigator.
Psi and Saibra are just like, whoa. Less than 5 minutes after the opening credits and you have Psi datamining information from a computer and Saibra shapeshifting into Clara. Later on you get Saibra shapeshifting to get into the bank and Psi hacking into the security systems of an impenetrable bank. They actually had purpose and weren't just there as some sort of liability (like the companions are sometimes).
That said, I think the fact that they're so unique means that if they do come back, it has to be in moderation so they don't get worn out, sort of like how River and Harkness were initially.
tl;dr, Psi and Saibra are the best make them recurring characters please
