Oh gosh, it was so embarrassing. I was supposed to be the one that held on and endured through the frustration.
Like, I win Monster of the Year, and then I do that. A mess.
Oh well. It took the better part of 2014 but I've fully come to my senses now and I'm back at 110%.
I feel like the past two and a half weeks are to blame for that since I'm falling head over heels for my RA and it's fall; both infatuation and season affect my overall mood and what music I listen to.
Kii!
You did the Madonna Stan thing too? I did that also, after the Born This Way era because I was bored of her, then "came back" with ARTPOP, and then realizing the poor quality of the album fairly quickly "left" again. Although I still use Gaga, barely kinda sorta.

Really all I was frustrated about was her stubbornness and the management of her career. I got over it because it's dumb to care about her not being #1 anymore. I've always loved the music beyond that of any other pop star and I still do.

I only cared because the quality was declining. Born This Way was worse than TFM (not The Fame, which is mostly terrible), and ARTPOP was worse than Born This Way. It's just sad because I know she can reach that peak again, she just lost her vision. Up until recently (with BEYONCÉ) TFM was the best mainstream female pop release since Confessions on a Dancefloor, so it really is a shame.
Rock Show should have been on The Fame in place of LoveGame. That is all.
Now, Rusty, I love Rock Show, and I agree that it should've been on The Fame, but in place of LoveGame?!!! NO. I'd be fine if it placed Summerboy though, I haven't listened to it in full and I don't really plan to.

But February 28th, 2010 though? You're late on her music.
My first encounter with Lady Gaga was on July 14th, 2008.
It was during the Miss Universe 2008 Swimsuit Competition.
I was not really into pop music at that time.
The moment the opening synth of Just Dance hit my ears I was instantly hooked.
And when I saw Gaga, it was very surreal. Her music was not what I heard at the radios at that time.
To deviate my attention from the swimsuit competition was commendable.
From then on, I was along the Gaga train: The swift accent, the pitstops and the bumps.
Weirdest stan moment was when I dreamt LoveGame jumped from 5 - 1 on BB Hot 100, giving her 3rd consecutive #1.

My list became an essay of stupid levels, so lemme collapse it. Only the worthy will read it
List
The Stone Age
January 29th, 2009: Discovered Gaga was more than a one-hit throwaway when I saw her live entirely by coincidence at this Irish TV show.
Poker God happened shortly after and the world collapsed at the might of the mystique-laden New Yorker with the weirdisms (where she at now?)
The Silver Age
Fall 2009: Coming out of depression after losing my idol, the 2009 VMAs happen and a fitting tribute opens the show. I'm convinced nothing after this can top it (I didn't care about the Kanye thing tbh) and Gaga delivers beyond all expectations. I go from big fan to hardcore stan and make a GGD account finally.
Later 2009: Bad Romance and its video debuts. The Fame Monster drops. The Monster Ball 1.0 launches. The world cannot comprehend a time when Lady Gaga didn't own it, and neither can I.
The Golden Age
Early 2010: Lots of stuff happens personally with me and I end up emigrating from Ireland and become a US resident. Lady Gaga continues domination of the world with Telephone and though my family would never know I planned my first visit home around her first headlining Irish concert.
Later in 2010: Gaga reaches what we know as her peak - VMAs, where her power is unmatchable. It's the night of nights to be a Gaga stan. We own the world (lookin' good and feelin' fine).
Early 2011: Born This Way drops after incessant hype (seriously, we think we have it bad now?!) just before the Grammy performance which genuinely slays so much harder than we give it credit for. Her dancing has never been better at a live performance and her vocals KILLED. The vessel concept gave her the headlines she wanted, and she steals some trophies.
Mid-2011: I see TMB again in LA this time and get to see Gaga perform as an audience member on American Idol at a time when she literally was the reason the world loved pop music.
The biggest meltdowns EVER in Gaga history when she reveals the album cover.
The Decline
2011 VMAs. The first time I was disappointed by a Gaga performance. Sorry not sorry.
You and I was not a single choice I expected. The video had promise but was a messT. Marry The Night was the perfect savior single, and it bombed. I even saw her perform it live on Ellen. Time to tour...
The Asian dates SLAYED. As an MJ stan I know no other artist has played to these kinds of crowds in these countries - Gaga is cashing in on her massive success as a worldwide icon.
2012 gets progressively more meh as the tour continues and suddenly the Koons is me Gaga absence from the charts and radio becomes way too noticeable. She releases a perfume instead of a record later in the year, but at least the promo slayed.
2013: The hip. The blackout. The single release mess. The VMAs. The Katy Perry comparisons. The constant media backlash. The declining opening-week estimates. Venus or Do What U Want. Dope for the LOLs. The album opening to 259K. The instant destruction from the media. The DWUW video mess, hit-and-miss performances and subsequent blackout. It's a hard time to be a monster, so naturally, I join ATRL
2014: Tour is better than videos make it seem, but it's not as good as her previous ones. The lack of a stable image is jarring and hard to latch onto. ARTPOP on Fallon was fantastic, Dope on Letterman wasn't. GUY's MV gets too much here, it's really great. C2C is a nice filler before new pop material in 2015.
The Return
The MESS she creates with bitchy tweets give me LIFE beyond measure. They're a throwback to pre-BTW mentality, or at least BTW all-encompassing mentality. We need the rockstar, not the Mother Teresa... It looks like she might be getting that.
Summerboy sucks, from what I can remember at least. I only listened to the first minute of it in 2010, and that was it. Same with Disco Heaven, Again Again(?), and Retro Dance Freak
But teehee I also did the Madonna stan thing in 2012. I actually dug into a lot of pop discographies in 2012. I got into music in 2010, during which I mainly just listened to Gaga + Katy + P!nk + Rih, and the radio. Then Gaga took over 100% of my time in 2011, so 2012 was my first true free time musically. I downloaded "Give Me All Your Luvin", bopped for 2 weeks, and spent March/April listening to M's discography.
I'm actually kinda sad that I was so into Gaga in 2011 bc that really was a small golden age for pop females, and I was too busy to properly enjoy it.

I've noticed lots of monsters are/were Brit stans for a while? I was during her massive breakdown and then at the end of 2008 I stopped because she was clearly going to make bank on her tour so had done enough to re-earn her place.
Maybe that's why I found new life to stan for Gaga after the lull of 2012 now...................
