Because it is obvious that people listened to Good Feeling only because of the Etta sample. That's the part that people liked and knew the lyrics to. It's just plain logic.

In Nicki's case however it is not as blatant so it does no damage to call it a solo single, whereas in Florida's case it was just unfair.

How is that plain logic? Was there some survey which stated this? Did you personally have discussions with large groups of people and gather their thoughts? Or, the most likely option, did you just use your personal view on the song and relate that to the entire radio listening, song-buying and streaming public?

At the end of the day, the song has a sample. Some of your favorite pop songs probably have samples that you probably don't even know about. Nicki already reached out to Sir-Mix-A-Lot about sampling the song so he got his credit and she got the approval; after that, it didn't matter.

At the end of the day, the song is "Nicki Minaj - Anaconda". Therefore, it is a solo song. I don't make the rules, I just go by them.

I know some of y'all don't like Nicki, but really, can you at least try a bit harder if you're going to try and discredit her? Samples aren't anything new in music; stop doing the most.

However, at the same time, I do see the points y'all are making concerning the song. I'm indifferent to be honest.

See that's what I'm trying to get at. Yes, he sampled the song, but that is just one element to it. There is so much that Kanye added, and the way that he looped Shirley Bassey's voice is genius. Also, the song brought us these two amazing verses that Kanye wrote.

That is what sampling should be.

My problem with "Anaconda" is that there isn't any talent required to do what Nicki did on the song. She didn't add anything interesting to the sample or the production by Polow Da Don and Da Internz.

The first line isn't hers. The second I never heard nor do I remember. Then again I heard the song twice. I do remember the last line.

But besides the sampling, which is true, do people actually think this is smashing all due to Nicki?

Like someone here said, her bars are really not that good here, I heard her do better in other tracks. And the best and most memorable part of the whole song is the sample.
