Because she doesn't care to make money off it by publicly being "hey buy my album!!" She basically is saying that she doesn't like to do that stuff. She makes the music, the label, who essentially make all the money, that's their job to sell it. Not hers. She puts in the work and effort, in return it's the label who needs the money, so they need to be the ones responsible.
She doesn't promote because she doesn't care to pimp out her sales. Doesn't mean she cares less. Seeing she WROTE every song off her album.

Who cares if it's popular or not?!? Why does it have to always be a popularity contest? It doesn't. So because some artists can't sell or get a bigger audience, means their music, their "art" is still not appreciated because they can't sell a million albums?.
