That's because Britney is the VMA queen tho, she was also promoted as the main act of the night in 2011, which is what really counts because the hype before the show is what attract viewers. But VMA without beyonce would've been like 6 million this year I think.

We had that same technology in 2009 onwards, and those have been the best years for the VMA's.

Most people don't usually record award shows. The excitement of award shows is that they air on the night and you watch on the night. And then you go wild on Social Media lmao.
