Taylor Swift set the Internet on fire earlier this week when she announced her first official pop album, "1989," will arrive in October. She also debuted the video for her new single "Shake It Off," which already has more than 25 million YouTube views. Expect Swift to be all over the place from now until Oct. 17, when "1989" touches down. Her performance of "Shake It Off" at the VMAs will open the next chapter of Swift's career as a pop star.
She really needs to slay at the VMAs. If she doesn't stand out and is overshadowed by the other acts, people are going to say she can't cut it as a Pop Tart.
