"Happy" has an anthem, timeless feel to it, which makes it likable. "Shake It Off" is just tuneless drivel that has no identity. Had Katy sung something like it, people would be calling her out for it. It doesn't deserve good reviews. Taylor has made pop songs before, but at least none of them sound like they would be album tracks on a Katy Perry album.
but its kind of obvious that the success of Happy influenced thia song because its the same structure and very similar production but with horns a la Pom Poms by the Jonas Brothers
