I think she's lying as well

The fact people even check that I only come across those stats on here and on GGD and it's nice to see when she's doing good, but honestly, I don't care and neither should others

She peaked with her first album success-wise and that's not going to be topped considering the album market nowadays. Get over this "she needs to be on top" mentality, because she doesn't. That's never been how her career has worked. She only has three #1 singles after all.

Bragging rights for irrelevant forums to the real world like these ones. I don't understand that tho it's like you pretending you had any part of it, like her success is your success?

I never said she was over. I just said it's getting really hard for her to comeback to the top at this point.
She still obviously has some hits left. #1 hits though? Debatable. A Mariah Carey sized comeback? Debatable.
|
And my question was, "why does she have to be on top?"
Anyone can make a comeback. You don't have to go #1 to have a comeback.

The album after C2C will be very important I think. It will be her 'I wanna be a pop star' or 'Bye. It was good while it lasted' If her next album does not deliver what a pop star needs to survive- hits, then IMO it will be over for her. But I guess only time will tell. But I doubt that she is so stupid to let her career die so fast and be considered a two albums wonder.

Comeback - Known person returning to the level they were formerly at.
Yeah, her getting a Top 10 strong hit even if it doesn't go #1 is great, I wouldn't mind. Since people keep saying she's through.
But it's not really a comeback if she was at the same level she was at during ARTPOP when everyone was saying she was flopping.
As someone who likes her I wanna see her have that all-out star-studded comeback. Even if we know it ain't possible, right?

Why do people keep posting "quotes from Gaga" from Twitter stans, when they have already been noted and ticketed as liars already?

She doesn't HAVE to be on top, but it's clear from her behaviour that she WANTS to be on top...

But she will never be if she does not let her ego go and start working with good producers who will deliver better music, start working with prof. video directors, FIRE her current team and start fresh etc..

And you are wrong that ARTPOP is over, Gaga herself said that C2C is part of the ARTPOP era, she's not finished with it yet, though I'm not really expecting a volume 2 or something but we'll see

See. This is why this fanbase is always on meltdown mode.

On a positive note, am going to get the 'Born This Way - The Remixes' CD soon.

I'll officially have:
- The Fame Monster (special version that includes The Fame + The Fame Monster)
- The Remixes
- Born This Way
- Born This Way - The Remixes
- ARTPOP
That's her album discog fully, right?
I'll need to get her Remix EP's next.

That statement doesn't make any sense in relation to what I said in my post, but whatever Also, most people in here don't even have real meltdowns, they sometimes get pissed at what she delivers or doesn't deliver, that's not necessarily a meltdown + it happens in every stanbase

I really don't understand the melodrama regarding her current status and future.
People panic and mock her for falling short of her prime, meanwhile she collects decent hits that people like and releases an album that is barely outperformed by those peaking. People carry on about her mainstream success being beyond saving as if all avenues have been tried, meanwhile she gives up on trying much and releases a bloody jazz album instead.
This is not a desperate position, and people have made much bigger comebacks from much tougher positions than this. Lady Gaga is still desirably pop cultural real estate and if she actually plays the game - she'll be fine. People like to hate her, but they do ultimately like her around. They know she's a damn good popstar who shouldn't be given up on - no matter how poorly they show it.

At the end of the day, we can see that Troy ultimately ruined the ARTPOP era post-November 11. But look at how Bobby has stepped up to the plate and utilized the best promo possible for Cheek to Cheek. He is completely invested in Gaga whereas Troy's mind I feel was elsewhere from August-November. Thank God she got rid of him, I say.
The future is bright guys, I truly believe that.

Nnn this thread right now ... On a lighter note, CTC pre-oder is doing nicely on iTunes worldwide.
# 6 Cheek To Cheek
# 54 ARTPOP
# 90 Cheek To Cheek
# 33 I Can't Give You Anything But Love
# 49 Anything Goes
Oh and I don't agree with firing her current team, Bobby's handling and planning for a jazz record is amazing. Four music videos, four promo singles, two TV specials, over five editions of the album being sold, a Target exclusive being pushed ... ARTPOP didn't receive that. Not to mention, Gaga's happy with her current team. Her being frusrated, upset, ideas being shot down and feeling controlled under Troy is one of the reasons ARTPOP was a complete mess.

Ugh, I've already said Paparazzi, LoveGame, and The Edge of Glory were her best songs at different times but I listened to 'Marry the Night' like 20 times today. It might be her best.
The beginning, the chorus, the climax, the ending, the video, the choreo, everything is so perfect about the song + video.
& this is one of the few songs where small instruments and sounds stick out to me like a thumb. There's this sound @ the end that is so amazing, I can't describe, but it makes me listen to the whole track each time for it.

I agree the way they are handling this C2C era is making it look like Bobby's doing a good job, but for all we know Gaga sabotaged the ARTPOP era cuz of all the drama going on with Troy etc, maybe credit belongs to Gaga and not Bobby?

Marry The Night is my favorite song by her, so preach. It's also so perfect as an opener for the album: the opening line is so straight forward, it's like she is going to take you for a magic ride and it slowly gets enveloped by walls and walls of sound, before you go on the roller coaster of a song with her and you get to see her at her most emotional (the bridge) and then the breakdown is the descend, the plunge, into an abyss of madness, insanity, happiness, excitement, rage, that perfectly describes all of what Born This Way (album) is. Perfect.
