It's just another club/party song served as a tether between TF and TFM for radios. Not that the other songs aren't dance numbers, but Telephone was just an updated Just Dance.

Not that it makes the song bad. I love this song And I'm glad it went to GagaBey! It just doesn't hold the same substance as majority of TFM.

She could have turned Nothin On But the Radio into a fear, Animal into a fear, or whatever leftover song she had in her disposal. Like I said you're imagining things. Sure she did start exaggerating it's themes and how much it meant over time but the meaning of the song in terms of TFM are not really all out of whack. It's a song about being at the club and not wanting to be bothered. Hence the fear of suffocation monster. I'm not really talking about the song being out of place because honestly it's a nice change up IMO.

She kinda lost me when the Alejandro video came out though. With the whole religion/gay thing. I honestly didn't understand where she was going with it but I guess she was just preparing us for BTW.

Nnnn I guess. But technically you could say the same about monster, Alejandro, SHICD, and even Teeth to an extent if you didn't have her explanation of those songs. I see what you mean but substance is definitely subjective. And I feel like those songs mean more because we know what she intends them to mean.

Considering she wrote Telephone prior to TFM era, it is clear she chose the song, and then went for the explanation. The song wasn't written out of fear but out of her ability to write a potential hit song for Britney Spears. Really she could have chosen any old track and given it a fear because ARTPOP could mean n e thing.

I think it's the process and memory of the video.......guess it was exhausting to do all the planning and they shot for 4 days and it took months to edit it so yeah...

If she'd hate it she would have easily ditched it on Artrave and replaced it with LoveGame for the medley.
