COLDPLAY - absolutelly!! They released singles with strange and poor videos and with small promotion... and STILL made it to the top for weeks! they are soooo successful..

LIL' WAYNE - NO!! maybe in the the USA... ... .. he is not famous or influential in Europe at all!!... I would replace him by Amy Winehouse... she still made it to the top after so many weeks in the charts in 2007... ... and the whole conversation about her...

KATY PERRY - I would agree! she's fresh and new! I hope she is not an one hit wonder as Fionna Apple was some years ago...

RIHANNA - Everything she sings turns into gold! It's amazing how every little single became such a huge hit... .. I gotta her!

BRITNEY SPEARS - not at all... "womanizer" was just released and it didn't even got the airplay or the good marks in the charts... I would replace her by Madonna - new album, new sounds, new style...

How many artists made it too?!... I mean, of course that's a great point for Britney, I congrat her!! but, that doesn't make her influential this year...

I don't see how Lil Wayne is any bigger than T.I....he's had one number 1 song in his nearly 10 year career of flops while T.I.'s been out since 03 and already had more top tens and number 1s then him. Just because he had one multi-platinum album means nothing.

Influence isn't really connected to sales. Plus you can't really gauge it within 1 year. The real artists that change the landscapes of music sometimes aren't even signed artists. It's their influence on artists we know that we see later on that does.

Mariah was NOT influential this year, she actually LOST steam, her album bombed (for what many were expecting) and her singles made NO impact, except TOUCH MY BODY.
