I feel confident with a 400k-550k prediction for Circus opening week numbers, but I don't know about 600k +. We'll see though with not that much US promotion leading to the opening week I doubt Britney will go over 600k, but I would love to be wrong about that.

She is no Alicia Keys & when Alicia dropped her album the whole country wasnt facing financial problems.

Anyway as high as 550k is a good amount of sales plus its a double cd & the RIAA counts 2disc as 2 cd's being sold so it will be certified platinum instead of gold if the label chose to count the double cd as 2.

its not going to count it as 2 cds tho it has to be over a certian time like CHristina's B2B it was a double album and counted as 1 Outkast album counted as 2.

It's the six degrees of separation I guess, but I tend to notice a Britney bias in most of the things you write. By that, I mean that you hold most artists (particularly Brit's contemporaries) up to unfair standards while you always make some sort of exception for Britney. You're not nearly as bad as a lot of other people on this site (I'm not going to name names) but I honestly have no idea how you or Rico or anyone else could have predicted IA...SF would outsell B'day's debut numbers.

I truly hope your prediction turns out to be correct, but if Circus ends up selling 350-400k are you guys actually going to swallow your pride and say the same thing about Britney that you're saying right now about Beyonce? Or are you going to cop out to some flimsy excuse or invoke Janet/Christina in order to change the subject?
