As unfortunate as it is, the only song from ARTPOP I can see surviving past the artRAVE is Applause. I wouldn't even say Do What U Want since she doesn't even perform the full song currently.

The Iraq War, Twilight and Gaga were the pop cultural conversations. Iconic.

Especially when you consider they filmed this over 12 years. They could have filmed/included references to anyone, but instead consciously wanted to capture the Gaga phenomenon at its height.

It's sad how her issues with the music video/issues with her demanding fanbase/issues with her management soured her thoughts on Do What U Want. It's understandable but it doesn't stop it from being one of her best songs.

It's good. I'm glad I avoided the hype, because its beauty is in how ordinary the story is. It's extraordinary in approach...and pretty surreal, really. Watching someone grow before your eyes and relating to the guy whilst it happens.

I agree with DWUW. The mess ruined a chance at a big hit. People love that song already and it barely took off.

I was just thinking whilst listening to ARTPOP that if THIS is her output when she's "off", then ****. She's talented. I mean, Venus is messy because it's underdeveloped but it still has stellar hooks. Applause is great and Gypsy is not far behind. I can't wait until she's back "on" it.
