Confession time: in my opinion, the only two artsy songs on ARTPOP, musically, are Venus and ARTPOP, and to an extent, that disappoints me. I feel like the album may have actually been more about art and pop back in 2011/2012 when it was first conceived, but all the extra time she had to work on it changed it quite a bit. It's still truly a great album, but in my opinion, there really is a lack of "artsy" material on it. Visuals are a completely different matter, as they have fit the theme of the era for the most part.

I can see the GP not caring, but the press should definitely cover it.

When are stans going to understand that they don't get to dictate what is art and what is not? Like, what even is an "artsy song"? What dictates a song is artsy or not? If I'm not mistaken, the album wasn't even meant to be artsy, considering she said the ART in ARTPOP came from the way she collaborated with Koons, Marina etc. (Also, nothing on the album changed, she just tinkered with the production. I don't know how many times that has to be said? ARTPOP 2012 = ARTPOP 2013 but with a few production tweaks.)

Look, I don't even like getting into it with members of other bases, let alone someone from the same base as my own fave. I get what you're saying, but I disagree to a certain extent. I'm entitled to my opinion, but I apologize for sharing it.

This just reinforces my theory of the multiple Gaga clones/sisters that Interscope switches when they get weak. Asia also has clones just in cause Gaga breaks her or she gets lost. Wake up America.

Reading through the first few pages in this base.
Why are having the same conversations a year later?

aka slaughtering Sexxx Dreams and ruining half the album.
I really do believe Troy and her management had something to do with the forced production changes, song choices that made the record that probably didn't initially, and overall tone of the record. My final word on ARTPOP: we fans received IMPOSTERPOP instead of the album Gaga really wanted to release before her management freaked when the numbers were looking scary in the months leading up to album release and forced her to fix something that wasn't broken. (Hence, why I'm so hung up on wanting to hear the Act II songs because they're probably some of the cinderella's that her management wanted hidden away for commercial reasons).
IMPOSTERPOP is still okay but yeah there's a lot that went down behind the scenes we don't know about (as Gaga has said herself numerous times).
Which would explain all of her imagery during DWUW and GUY concerning feeling "raped" or taken control of by slimy businessmen and Gaga wanting revenge and to rebel. And then Troy being fired and her going into "capitalism ruins art" message-wise after IMPOSTERPOP dropped.
She's free from a lot of that now so hopefully she'll tell the real story one day.

Don't even bother. Bang Up doesn't believe in people having opinions that aren't his.
Seeing how radio sounds right now, Gypsy could not be a better fit. So sad that Interscope is just ignoring his waiting-to-be smash

Above is the famous painting The Son of Man by René Magritte. Of the artwork, Magritte once said "Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see." I feel that this painting is a fair representation of what Gaga wanted to do with ARTPOP. Imagine the apple is art and the man is pop. Gaga said she wanted to put art in front of pop. Well, when she tried, it seemed that many wanted more pop, and when she reversed the roles - making the apple pop and the man art - it appeared as though their minds had changed, and they wanted more art from her. It's like Magritte said, "we always want to see what is hidden by what we see": if people saw art, they wanted pop; if they saw pop, they wanted art. We know both are there, but it's almost as if many people can only digest one at a time, and I think ARTPOP was just too full a burrito for their digestive systems to handle. But the thing that really gets me is this: why do they have to be separate? Why must there be a man and an apple, an art and a pop? Can the man not eat the apple, and thus the two become one? Can art and pop not become one - ARTPOP? Was this the true meaning of ARTPOP?
Sorry, this is just a sampling of the things I tend to think about in the early hours of the morning. My apologies.
