Rihanna is arguably the most controversial pop star of our generation and that carries on into her music. Katy Perry could never make albums like TTT, Unapologetic or Rated R, which are far too explicit and inappropriate for her core fan base.

I doubt we'll ever see a Katy Perry album with a parental guidance sticker on.

DrIL coulda been a crossover payola hit if she wanted. With the money, power, and reverence people have for her and her husband, she could strong-arm radio. Like... But she doesn't want to. She literally performed XO and Drunk ONCE each on a promotional platform.

She even talks about DrIL not intended to be a hit record, one month before it became a hit record.
