Liam recently said the singles are bold and pop but the album is overall more chill so I think they mean its just not going to be ass poppy and in your face as like TMH and UAN and away from the rocky thing they tried in MM.

im pretty sure they saw their mistake with MM which is why they gave up on the whole "bringing rock back" thing. Im excited for this new album. I haven't seen their recording team or them this excited for a new album till now.

Commercially it was just as successful as TMH, and its singles did better overall in the USA.

Yes it was, but I just don't think a lot of the songs on the album was the right route for them and for most people MM is just not their best album.
