That structure is based on what sounds PLEASING to the ear? Like are you really trying to minimize the degree to which culture has developed largely as a function of what people (or the powers that were at any given time) found appealing on a sheer sensual level...?
I'm not trying to minimize anything. I love tonality. I'm just pointing out that there is a structure. Btw, it only sounds pleasing to the ear cause you're so used to it 😁
Gaga doesn't have 1 song as iconic or timeless as Girls Just Wanna Have Fun or Time After Time so we can't even call her the Cyndi Lauper of our generation. She's more the Paula Abdul.
