Because the truth is that Gagas insecurities are being displayed through the album title. She probably didn't really believe what she was doing since the beginning was truly ARTPOP. But it is and has been. She wanted to show what she's already been doing for years which doesn't make much sense. I've always thought art and pop were the same and I really believed she did too. Maybe she thought she had to prove it?
During the tour she says it's more about people's artistic. Abilities being put to use and coming together through our talents. I really think she wants younger talents to strive for their talents and fight for them but I don't get that though the album.

I don't think she needed to prove anything to anyone, even though she felt she did. She's revealed that the BTW made her feel depressed but I'm still not sure why, it did really amazing, but we can't know what was going on behind the scenes. Another mistake I think was announcing the title so early, probably only a few days after writing the title track. She probably would've realised later that the title wasn't fitting to the tracks she had written, but it was too late because we as a fanbase loved the title.
She's always supported youth and creativity so who knows. I hate people that say it usually, but Born This Way feels more ARTPOP because it blended genres so effortlessly and carried a message where ARTPOP struggled to be cohesive.

I totally get what you mean. That's why I probably love it so much but she din't really evolve much musicwise, which is not wrong per se, but yeah.

Yeah, like I've said above, it feels a bit all over the place like a Greatest Hits.
