Wasn't there already radio programmers who listened to Never Ever at this point? For radio testings and stuff? How about LP5 lead?
The song was released on August 13th and if I remember well we did not know anything about it except that it would say "never" a lot and that was like 4 days before the release.
I don't remember anyone saying anything about the song earlier than that, I mean we didn't even know if she would premiere the song during the livechat.

Iirc some radio programmers said that Never Ever was her poppiest to date, could be her biggest smash, and is full of 'never'. I just don't remember when did we got that news, if it was july or august already. Then days before the live chat, a single person spilled that she'll premiere the lead single on the live chat event. Lol. I remember it all too well.
