You are right about katy recycling sounds, for example Birthday could have been a production from her first album

Bish what? I can understand the comparison from TD to Prism but to OFTB? Her first album is completely different from The last two. It was more Pop rock than Bubble gum pop. Unlike your fav. OFTB's success came from how good the album was. It made you feel good. Happy, and a rock star. It didn't ride off SUCCESFUL singles. (It only had 2 huge singles) enough to give her sales that reaches 5M plus. Educate your self. If artpop was STANDOUT then all her singles including Applause would of been successful. And yes I'm including applause because with her talent she would if easily beaten Roars first week sales and not done so horribly as a lead single.

She's going to fall eventually. She won't receive backlash because very few care enough. Bandwagon fans who only use her to brag about her success will abandon her as they did with Gaga. Her fan base isn't nearly as large and isn't half as devoted as Gaga's so she had better hope that the public and radio NEVER abandon her.

She does take risks, she's just smart enough to know when a risk wouldn't pay off. Obviously releasing an album like ARTPOP wouldn't pay off (the risk here being releasing a mediocre album in hopes her star power is still strong enough to sell it, which didn't pay off for Gaga).

And I don't really get some of the comments here. ARTPOP wasn't risky or revolutionary. It was Gaga's attempt at jumping on the EDM bandwagon, getting producers like Zedd and Madeon on board, however combined with her odd lyricism it wasn't a good match and it was, to be honest, a little dated upon arrival anyway (especially since many of the album's instrumentals were recycled - and not Dr. Luke's version of recycling, literally stripped instrumentals from tracks from many years ago - which left the innovation out of the record) and was all wrapped up in a tacky concept that didn't resonate with the GP (ART meats POP in a reverse Warholian experience or something similar).

All in all, I'm sure Katy will not have her 'ARTPOP era' as she's pretty good at making the right decisions of what to change and when.
