Because Pop Music isn't filled with talentless gimmicks who rely on Dr.Luke production, and "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?" sized writing to become hits?
Oh please. Nicole and I only like sophisticated pop music. Neither of us can remember the last time we enjoyed a Dr. Luke song.
Random pop culture reference that makes no sense, turned sexual: she like to cowabunga like a ninja turtle
Something sexual that rhymes with that (if you're lucky, it rhymes; usually it's a half-rhyme cuz they can't bother to look for an actual one): yeah her booty lookin' very fertile
There you have it. Rapping.
However, rapping takes more writing/lyrical talent than pop songwriters because rappers simply use about
5 times more words in a single song than a pop singer does, but I agree, it's not difficult to actually perform a rap.
Puffy didn't become the first black billionaire rapper, though. Selling BEATS to Apple was probably the smartest business tactic ever made. Poor P. Shiddy.
Dr. Dre sure did well for himself. From N.W.A., to Death Row Records with Snoop and Pac, to Aftermath Entertainment with Em and 50, to Beats Headphone, and now a billionaire

This is why they'll always be wealthy. And the fact that Universal agreed too.
Quote:
Birdman and Slim wanted an 80/20 pressing and distribution deal, plus a multi-million dollar cash advance. This was nothing short of unprecedented for an unsigned indie label. A pressing & distribution deal meant that Cash Money would continue finance their own albums and therefore maintain ownership of all their masters, royalties and publishing. Essentially they were looking for a company that would finance their entire label with millions of dollars, in exchange for a measly 20% cut of the profits made only when a consumer physically purchased an album.

A true inspiration for the children
He was in World Class Wreckin Cru, too. People are still waiting for Detox after 14 years. Bye.

Yeah, I never understood the fascination with Dr. Dre beats. #1-they're not even that good. #2-who the hell is Dr. Dre for this new generation and how is he selling off of his name by ridiculous amounts?
Out of all those businessmen rappers, P Diddy is the only hard working and intelligent one.
I agree. Diddy has become an absolute joke in the world of hip hop, but in terms of the world of business,
he's a very intelligent man, and if you don't respect him for anything, you have to respect him for that.

honestly because Interscope put it in so many music videos under their label, and even not under their label. SO MANY RAPPERS AND POPSTARS were seen using them in videos, I swear to god.

I JUST read about this a few months ago. Basically, the way Jimmy Iovine marketed it in every music video during the early, and made it have a sleek and attractive aesthetic is what made it so successful.
