Yes and my friend just posted on FB that there were a out 100 AIDs researchers on that plane heading to a conference in Melbourne. I know the President of their society was but I don't know if that number is valid.

If so it makes this all the more crazy and unbearable to think about

Some passengers were connecting from other flights so I think their passports are not recorded at the airport where they board their connecting flight.

There's still 4 unverified passengers but yes, it looks like there were no American casualties.

Initial reports were pure speculation. The airline couldn't release the manifest until the next of kins had been contacted and informed.

Yes. They're also up for 5k a passenger to cover relatives immediate needs, then at an appropriate time, fly the relative over to Ukraine

This would be a travesty and could earn Malaysia Airways a LOT of money if they sue, neither the airline nor the company could have prevented this, there was nothing wrong with the plane, so they can't blame this on them. Thet could sue for defamation of character of an entire company and sue for trying to knowingly and maliciously run their company in the ground. MA does NOT deserve this

The airline could sue who? It was Malaysian Airlines themselves who offered refunds for future passengers, some travel agents then extended the offer to cover until the new year. As for insurance companies refusing to cover their passengers, they're entitled to refuse any airline. MA can't do a thing about it
