Well this is why I don't value singers who don't write their own lyrics particularly highly.
A voice is more than an instrument - while it can create sounds like a piano and guitar, it can use language to convey more meaning to a song than just an instrumental can. Songs can be brilliant combinations of stories and music.
Many classical pieces had stories or concepts attached to them without lyrics.
She's human just like us therefore she can have a say in whatever she'd like. Rihanna and her 90 milli and ghetto Navy will remain happy even if she stops selling.
Of course melodies/instruments are basic parts of a song. Although let's not forget pop music has lyrics and to create a masterpiece we need to have both in a perfect combination, which neither Grizzy nor Joanne could achieve this era (Grizzy is ahead tho).
Ever since Miley blew up, Rih has been kinda insecure and is trying to do anything to get attention. This became extremely obvious once I saw the Pour It Up video.

Pour It Up video was supposed to be out before We Can't Stop even happened
