This especially depends on the artist using it and their vocal style. Japanese pop music can be very subdued and traditional, for lack of a better word - popular Korean music is more hard hitting in many cases (though not all). Look at HyunA's "Ice Cream" for example, one of my favorites - rapid pace, more clear Western stylings, and vocal delivery closer to Western pop. Compare that to something like Ayumi's "Hanabi," another of my faves - of course these are only two examples and not indicative of entire genres, but y'all get what I mean. The languages and styles are distinct enough if you have experience listening to them.
