I can empathize with you. It's tough. You become so used to being hidden that you adapt to the facade and it becomes a part of you. Trust me, though: it is so much better when that mask is gone. Obviously I don't know what you're dealing with or what repercussions you would face, but, in my case, learning to truly embrace my legitimate and real self was worth far more than the happiness I gained from fitting in. Do whatever you believe is best for you and your situation.
