um, white rappers have plenty of struggles too, because being white doesn't make your life automatically amazing. and why are you being elitist about it? rap is just a way of expressing music, it isn't necessarily "about" anything. nobody owns it, it's just a style that people started liking and using once they found it
Just because white people can relate to Eminem repeatedly "rapping" about wanting to kill his ex wife doesn't speak many volumes of struggle...excent like an anger problem. But that's just me.
Maybe a quick Google search of the Harlem renisansse will educate you about the roots of rap and beat poetry
But when you look at history everytime Black people made significant efforts to move ahead, there was always some government policy that pushed us backwards. We were on our way to having power in this country during the reconstruction era and Jim Crow happened.
I don't personally think anyone needs to "move on" when racism of all forms still goes on. I do, however, think certain people (not all blacks, Jews or whatever, just certain people in general) need to stop acting like everyone is out to get you because of your race, gender or sexuality. I personally don't give **** about any of that. I just see people based on who they are as people. It has nothing to do with race, gender or sexuality. If you're a good person, I'll like you. If you're a nasty person, I'll pray for you. Lol. I even think in my own community of gays that some are ALWAYS looking to use that homophobic card when sometimes that's not the case at all. I know of a guy who was refused service at a bar because he was too drunk and tried to say "it's because I'm gay!" Like not everyone is out to get you or make you feel like you're less than they are. I understand racism is still very real, but so are a lot of things. I just don't think blaming all Christians or all white people or whatever is going to make anything better.
