I always felt like 'helping' my favorite artists by buying their CDs, of course followed by the fact that I wanted to own them, kinda sad but I'll keep on buying them even if they don't chart, can't imagine a world without me spending all my money on CD Japan :c
Are you retarded? The money still goes to your fav and it's not like you're gracing their sales figure +1
SCREAMING. Don't do my sis like that
But yea, I've honestly bought some of Utada's Taiwan versions. It still goes into her bank account and sales #'s but I don't have to eat instant oatmeal for weeks

Japan has the best taste when it comes to successful solo divas. Each and everyone of them have something special with their own unique charms. This countdown is to celebrate the achievements of all the wonderful female acts that have made an impact in Japan over these past 35 years.
Methodology:
This countdown ranks the best performing female acts on the Oricon album charts since 1980. Album sales have always been the proper way to gauge a solo female's true popularity in Japan.
Album sales have drastically fallen. As such, it wouldn't be accurate or fair to count sales and rank the artists based on that. Instead, this countdown will look at Oricon's Year-End Album Chart for each year (1980-2013), and assign points to the artists based on that.
Only acts that Oricon considers as solo female artists are allowed.
The methodology is simple: A #1 best selling album of the year will earn the artist 50 points, a #2 best selling album of the year will earn 49 points, etc. Only the top 50 albums of each year will be used.
There will be some surprises, but most of ATRL's J-Pop faves made the countdown.
Coming Soon...
