You don't hate or love Emeli. The Queen her power comes from not evoking any true emotion either side of grey nothingness. She does not offend and she does not cause controversy. Her lyrics are not risqué and her performances are not iconic.
She is so perfectly in the middle of the road that the GP flock to her in their millions. She is a safe bet, and in times of fear and uncertainty everyone wants refuge in the Sandécastle.

I was just saying in the boxscore thread, that even if her shows don't all sell out (and I bet most of her US, Canada, NZ and Australian shows will be sold out) she's still grossing 2-3X more and 1.5-2X more people attend her shows even with HIGHER ticket prices

I wouldn't go to see Bruno Mars concert. He's very talented but he's just like Beyonce. Every performance for particular songs looks exactly the same since he premiered them.
They're obviously not exactly good or anything amazing, but not bad.
