BTW is a ****ing amazing song.
You have the beautiful intro/outro, perfect vocals in the verses, amazing melody in the chorus and a pretty clever 'don't be a drag, just be a queen' hook, and it's all so concisely and effectively done.
I loved that song from the start and people really overplayed the EY comparisons to hate it and downplay it's role as the most-hyped single of the decade.
The best thing about BTW is that it was such an audacious move at the time and unlike other empowerment anthems (Raise Your Glass, Firework, We R Who We R), it didn't flit around the subject and it addressed the problems directly ('left you outcast, bullied or teased', 'no matter gay, straight or bi/black, white or beige'). Brilliant pop song.

It is odd to me though. The Born This Way album era seems the most unlike Madonna Gaga ever was.

This is wrong though, imo
