1) Mario Kart 8 came out May 30th, same day as everywhere else (except a few retailers who broke the street date). Which is actually in-between the upcoming tracking week for the UK so Mario Kart didn't get a full week of sales yet. These are indisputable facts.
2) 82% of all Wii U consoles sold were Mario Kart 8 bundles. (

3) The week prior, Wii U sold approximately, 1,655 in sales. (

If there was a 666% increase it sold around 11k as you said. HOWEVER, here's where your logic is skewed.
82% of 11k is around 9k.
The highest selling console (PS4) sold 8k last week in the UK. If all these numbers are true, Wii U was launched right back into competitive levels with PS4 and Xbox One with Mario Kart 8 leading the way.
Not only did Mario Kart impact with its own sales but, it put Wii U at the very least, near #3 (if not #2) of the top consoles in the UK for that week without as many days as Watch Dogs had too in the UK (since WD will have a full week of tracking)
That's impressive and real impact. Give it some credit.
