IMO, there's nothing like a Madonna show when it comes to live shows.
The energy is out of this world . I always try to attend at least 3 shows each tour .

And yeah, that's an interesting quote about longevity. It shows how hard it is to keep going in a business that, in the words of Cher, eats its young.

What do u exactly mean by that?

Madonna must be cackling her ass off when people call her irrelevant and she ends up grossing more than every artist in the world

Cher was basically talking about her son trying to make it in the industry, but he was finding it hard and was having some personal problems, and I guess the implication was that the music business sucks these young, creative people dry and spits them out. I think it's relevant to what Madonna was saying in that interview about longevity.
I can't remember it exactly, but it's in the book ''Everyone Loves You When You're Dead'', by Neil Strauss.

She's laughing her ass off in her mansion with her family and millions of dollars while all the people calling her irrelevant are probably unsuccessful + bitter that they'll never have what the queen has Same can be said for people calling any pop star irrelevant tbh

She's the oldest one tho, every young pop star has the chance to rebound and their asses will be promptly kissed, but apparently a woman of her age needs to retire, so every time she brings crowds larger than life to her tours she must be cackling deep inside

Very true. the fact that the MDNA tour grossed 300M No other pop star can do that. Even in their prime I don't mind the bitter bottoms on ATRL who try to drag M because most of ATRL is ageist unfortunately. Most of them can't accept the fact that M is more rich and successful than their fave and she's in her 50's

Oh, okay, I didn't understand who's eating whose young
Agreed, re-invention is needed for longevity, which M had on point. You don't see many Madonna's peers running around anymore, Kylie, maybe but she's a tad younger (though they have the same amount of albums).
I wanna read the article but the scans are hard to read so I'll wait for a better quality ones/transcript

Job very well done, Mr. Holmes.

Let's be honest tho, Kylie is starting to lag a little bit. Mariah too.
I'm not dragging them, but they are evidence of Madonna's impressive resilience.
At that age, Madonna was yet to start the Re-invention tour, the highest grossing tour of that year.
Who knows what the future will bring us to the table, maybe they'll rebound too.

True that, I'm curious about Kylie's and MC's tours tbh, that's gon' be funny (especially Mariah haha). Also Mariah started like a decade after Madonna
Dragging MC's elusive numbers, I'm worried about Veni, Vidi, Vici's but we'll see

Reading through the interview, it's so SUPER-CUTE, how they just talk to each other... I wish she did that with Britney in 2003

I am blasting "Nobody Knows Me" out loud in my house until the neighbours hear it - don't care tonight
Now: "Revolver" & "Gang Bang" MDNA Tour versions
Next: "Die Another Day"
Slé me
