You do get used to racist statements after a while though, at least in my case when I was visiting family. Its about the same in the states surely, its just much more segregation between the races in Europe.
The film absolutely belongs to Angelina Jolie, who gives a career best performance as Maleficent. She is a revelation here; an astonishingly subtle and nuanced performance that perfectly manages to balance the vindictive evil and wounded innocence of the character. She manages to juggle moments of real darkness with moments of adorable comedy, seamlessly shifting from one to the other as Maleficent’s vengeful righteousness begins to crack as she spends more time with her goddaughter. It’s almost impossible to imagine the film working without her, and the quality of her performance makes Maleficent’s ever so slightly implausible character arc feel authentic and convincing. 9/10
It seems that I'm going to be the only Maleficent stan left after the terrible box-office that is predicted for this (Jolie's Lips will be the first to jump ship).
God has blessed Angelina for having talent. Her career has gotten better with age, unlike METHNEY. She's able to keep a man long-term, unlike METHNEY AND MANISTON. She's able to care for 9 children, unlike METHNEY who can't even take care of two and MANISTON who has none.
