It was a bold and notable move, but people got way ahead of themselves.

Granted, I'm a cynical person, but to me it was obvious from the moment it happened that it wasn't a viable marketing strategy that would revolutionise. The surprise release was a great stunt, but the immediacy of the visual album put too many eggs in one basket and the material itself wasn't commercial enough to sustain the campaign.

Let me guess all those headlines were done the same week or in december, right? Too bad they couldn't know the album will be out of the charts 5 months later. No wonder everyone sticked with traditional releases.
