Can't fall too much in love, they've been outlawed by country radio for years. Maybe that's the subject of the song?

Yeah, the song was written about the controversy caused by their lead singer's comments about George W. Bush (the president at the time the comments were made) during a show in the UK where she publicly said that they were ashamed that Bush was from Texas. I can understand why people were offended by comments but it was sad that they lost so much. Since the controversy, they released one final album,
Taking the Long Way, which features "Not Ready to Make Nice", and they have parted ways. Their lead singer Natalie embarked on a solo career while the other two, Emily and Martie (who are sisters) formed their own musical duo, although they still do comeback shows every now and then. I'm waiting for the day they do another album because I really do love them and their music despite their controversy. They were like the Adele of the 2007 Grammys. They won 5 Grammys for that album, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
