from what i've seen they have an obsession with big eyes and cute faces.... Nana is extremely beautiful...


Anyway can anyone explain me these 2 question i have:

1) whats wrong with koreans and food... Miss A thanks all the time fans for sending them food... if i was popular i wouldnt even touch a food that strangers send me .... also in interviews when they play games, most of the time the prize is food, and everyone goes crazy when they hear about it... i mean wtf dont they feed them?? they are idols they have money....

2) i have watched many episodes of Dream high and one thing i noticed is that even in indoor shoots the actors wear heavy clothes and have frost breath... i noticed that even in some interviews... cant they just turn the heat??

To answer your questions based on things my friend from Korea has told me:

1.) In general, treating people to a meal is a sign of respect/congeniality which is why people send food to idols. Obviously it's not the same thing as buying food for someone you know, but it's like a token of appreciation. It's not really considered weird. There was, however, an incident a while back where some anti-fan gave TVXQ's Yunho a drink that had glue (I think?) in it, and he had to be rushed to the hospital. It's a cultural difference I suppose. I'm sure their security checks over it and everything, especially after that particular incident, but they just aren't as suspicious. On a cultural level it probably has to do with the fact that S. Korea has prominent military involvement in society. Israel is the same way, and civilians there are, like, fearless.

2.) As a whole, South Korea doesn't have indoor climate control in most facilities. I don't know why, it just doesn't. I mean they have AC and heating and stuff, apparently they just don't like using it. Part of it is superstition (the older generation had this urban myth that if you leave a fan on at night, it can suck the air out of the room and suffocate you, which of course makes no sense, but hey - people in America refuse to number a 13th floor in buildings, so you can't really criticize), and part of it is probably just frugality.

Fan death. They use ondols in the winter which is floor heating and pretty amazing, your feet get so warm. Oh yeah, and a lot of elevators skip the 4th floor because of the death association.

And random, but apparently IU was at the school I went to fall semester yesterday.

I forgot about floor heating, some people here have it too. It's so nice.

The thing about skipping the 4th floor isn't so unusual either. I mean, I think superstitions like that are silly no matter what culture you're in, but most societies have things like unlucky numbers, signs, etc.
