I doubt that, most of the "ratchets" are not the ones buying her albums, singles, and album DVDs. The reason she is able to slay 17 years into her career is because she's able to captivate feminists with her "strong independent black woman" image. She's been saying she could pay for her own stuff since "Bills Bills Bills" and divorcing Jay-Z would only garner her more support from the women (aka her biggest demographic).

Payola always seems to take songs up to the 60-70m range (Take Back the Night, TKO) and beyond that it seems like there needs to be positive feedback from audiences. I suspect that past that mark is when songs start getting replayed a lot or put on power rotation and playing something none want would endanger their audience.

I always seem to judge how good an album is by how many times i go back to it, months after its release. The Monkeys' latest is a clear example whereas i hardly listen to NWTS, even though he is one of my favourite artists.
