I cant at you forgetting the 2003 "Baby Boy" performance
@ the European VMA's when the Play Back started
to skip
So try hard per usual. She was singing live over a backing track and stopped singing the lead vocals when the background vocal track skipped. You can even hear when the track begins to skip she's still singing until she realizes the track is messing up. The beginning of the performance where she was just dancing she didn't even have a microphone and she clearly switched over to live vocal on the second verse.
That choreography was intense, and I don't think she had ever really trained to sing and dance at the same time, so you've gotta give it to her for trying. Could have sounded worse
Well above 90% of the time. The inverse is true of Britney.
Singing is one aspect of performing as a whole, as is dancing, use of instruments, and probably visuals/theatrics.
Except live vocals.
I can't with this excuse; NO ONE always sings live, every relevant artist, be they a dancer/performer or not, has lipped at least once. That said, there's a difference between singing live with the exception of a handful of performances, and doing the opposite, which was true of Britney. People are just pointing that out -- in one of the aspects of being a performer (singing) Britney got a grade of N/A for about 95% of her performances.
michael, madonna, janet, etc didn't always sing live but yall don't come for them. They're considered some of the greatest PERFORMERS of all time, the picking & choosing
the correct answer is Britney, and it's not even CLOSE.
Britney is the queen of 2003...
People are more enjoyable to see britney dance back then, she slay more than bey..
Britney dance in MATM video >>>> CIL/BB video combine, lol
We look at britney then and see an entertaining performer who gave her all. Britney fans hope for a return to that Britney.
Beyonce is SO improved that that we look at her performances back then and critique EVERY thing. We see where shes improved and are happy about her current abilities, contrary to Brit. fans
Britney. Her stage presence back then was insane and untouched by anyone of her peers.
And the people saying that live vocals make for a better performer, I actually took a look at the some of Beyonce's 2003 performances and some of them had pre-recorded vocals. And then there were some where she barely sang and let all the background singers/music do all the work. So let's not.
2003 Britney. Let's accept that there was a time that Britney was a better performer and IMO 2003 was Beyoncé's worst performing year. Beyoncé's most captivating performing factor is her singing and she had flat and shaky vocals that years (possibly nervous because of her first solo year). Britney's most captivating performing factor is her dancing, which was ***Flawless that year. Beyoncé's the better performer after that year imo, but that's why I'm a Beyoncé stan.
